Senior Business Analyst, New Product Planning

Location: West Palm Beach, FL

Big picture:

Working in our new West Palm Beach facility, the candidate will lead therapeutic area and market sizing research, competitive landscape mapping, and scan for competitive intelligence updates as part of the growing New Product Planning (NPP) team. The Sr. Business Analyst will report to the Associate Director of NPP but will be expected to work independently on market sizing and mapping projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced in conducting KOL interviews, AdBoards, and developing discussion guides. Other expected tasks include staying abreast of competitor activities in Oncology and in the Chinese healthcare space. Opportunity for this candidate to become an “expert” in the Chinese and US Oncology markets and extend market sizing activities to support pricing models in the US and China.

Some of the responsibilities:

  • Perform research to support market sizing efforts and new therapeutic indication planning for future clinical development assets, including primary and secondary market research, conducting phone and web surveys, focus groups, etc.
    • Specifically, build on research done on US Oncology subsegments to map out similar spaces in China, then solidify final opportunity areas with rest of team
    • Write discussion guides and conduct KOL interviews and/or AdBoards
    • Work with external vendor to conduct interviews in China
  • Map the competitor landscape for different oncology segments in both China and US to support commercialization plan development
  • Stay up to date with current trends in the CAR-T space specifically, and oncology field in general in the US and China
  • Travel to conferences such as AACR / ASCO and summarize and present findings to internal F1 team and senior management
  • Review newsletters and healthcare websites to inform NPP team and others of competitor activity in the US and China
  • Assist Assoc. Director with other market research or competitive intelligence as needed
  • Responsible for consolidating research to present to senior management or board members as needed

We are looking for candidates with this background and education:

  • BS in life science required
  • MS (in life sciences) or MBA required, PhD or MD or preferred
  • If PhD or MD, at least 2 years of consulting work or related experience (i.e. VC, corporate strategy, market research)
  • If MBA, at least 4 years of consulting work or related experience in a healthcare field or in a pharma/biotech company (e.g. corporate strategy, market research)
  • Experience writing discussion guides and conducting KOL interviews
  • Proficiency in Excel – Required
  • Experience working in Oncology or Immuno-oncology field – Preferred
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, as well as oral and written communication skills
  • Strategic thinker, self-starter, and results-oriented
